Power Ranking Number 7: Baltimore Ravens

The plan of the off-season for the Baltimore Ravens front office was to get quarterback Joe Flacco some more weapons in the passing game to go with the Raven great running game. Well the mission was accomplished by adding wide receivers Anquan Boldin and Donte' Stallworth, Boldin provides Flacco sure hands and the ability to run after the catch and Stallworth provides him speed to stretch the defense. Running back Ray Rice had an outstanding season but running and catching the football and last season he combined for a total of 2,041 yards all purpose, and the Ravens don’t expect to catch as many passes this season and think that will allow him to be even more effective running the football.

Ray Lewis is the heart and soul of the Ravens team and defense and last season he had 134 total tackles and 3 sacks and it doesn’t look that Lewis has lost much of a step despite being 35 years old. Defensive line Haloti Ngata is a force on the line and has the ability to play up and down the defensive line causing mismatches against the offensive line. Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs is the Ravens pass rusher that teams game plan against and in the second round in this years draft the Ravens feel the might have found another passer rush team will have to pay attention to in Sergio Kindle.

With the additions that the Ravens have made this off-season the have one of the better all around teams in the NFL, their only weak spot on their team is in their secondary but if they can get good play there they could have a chance to go to the Super Bowl.

  1. Can't remember the last season when Stallworth did anything. He was worthless in Cleveland and then killed someone by accident.
