Power Ranking Number 6: Dallas Cowboys

America’s Team the Dallas Cowboys are still looking for their first Super Bowl win after the Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin era. Will it come this season? Well Cowboy fans sure hope so and if they went to the Super Bowl it would be a home game since the Super Bowl this year is at Cowboys Stadium. Quarterback Tony Romo got another receiving weapon this April when the Cowboys drafted Dez Bryant in the first round. Bryant will play along side the other Cowboys receivers in Miles Austin, Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton. But Romo’s favorite target in the passing game is tight end Jason Witten. Their running game is a three head monster in Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.

Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is the best player on a very good defense and two years ago he had 20 sacks and last season he followed that up with 11 sacks. In 2010 he should be again tops in the NFL in sacks. Anthony Spencer the Cowboys other outside linebacker came on last season with 6 sacks. Keith Brooking was a welcome addition to the linebacking core and provided leadership to the overall defense. Cornerback Mike Jenkins really stepped up his game last season to give a good cornerback opposite Terence Newman.

The Cowboys final won a playoff game last season, but lost to the Minnesota Vikings after beating Philadelphia in the first round. Owner Jerry Jones won’t be satisfied by just winning one playoff game he expects the Cowboys to get to the Super Bowl and win it this season and they have the team that could do it.
