North Carolina State vs Tennessee: 3 and Out

Looking at 3 senior NFL Draft prospects in the North Carolina State vs Tennessee game.

QB Mike Glennon, North Carolina State - Glennon is a big quarterback standing at 6-6 but even with that height he shows decent feet and can move in the pocket.  He has a good arm and throws a catchable ball.  He is a guy who a lot of feel with a good senior season could be a quarterback that could rise and could be a late first round pick in next fall draft.

S Earl Wolff, North Carolina State  - Wolff is a good all-around safety who can defend the run as well as the pass. He is a player that NFL teams look for, a smart, high football IQ safety to be the quarterback of the teams secondary.

OL Dallas Thomas, Tennessee – Thomas is an athletic offensive linemen with the ability to play both guard and tackle.  He played left tackle for Tennessee all of last season but will start at left guard this season.  I think he has the ability to play tackle in the NFL and could see an NFL team drafting him high to play tackle.

Northern Colorado at Utah: 3 and Out

This season I will be doing a 3 and Out series in which we look at 3 senior NFL draft prospects for the games match-up.

Utah is loaded with senior talent and as many as 9 guys could get drafted, yes I did say 9.

DT Star Lotulelei, Utah – Yes everyone that covers the NFL Draft is on the Lotulelei band wagon and thinks he could be a first round pick, which he could.  He is very good against the run and is a good overall athlete, I just would like to see him become a better pass rusher and have multiple moves to get to the quarterback.

CB Ryan Lacy, Utah – Lacy can run, he can really run on Utah website is says that he has run a 4.32-second 40.  He has good man to man cover skills but the issue is that he is only 5-9, he speed helps for the lack of height.  But despite not being the tallest of corners he is thick and strong and will come support the run.

WR DeVonte Christopher, Utah  -  Christopher has everything you are looking for in a wide receiver, the size, speed and hands.  He needs to improve his route running to create more separation from the defensive back, but that should come with time and more coaching.

South Carolina at Vanderbilt: 3 and Out

This season I will be doing a 3 and Out series in which we look at 3 senior NFL draft prospects for the games match-up.

In ESPN first Thursday Night college football game of the season we see an SEC match-up.

South Carolina:
S DeVonte Holloman: Holloman is a big physical player who could possible play OLB in the NFL, the biggest question mark is going to be his top end speed if he would stay at safety at the next level.  He has decent coverage ability but could improve on that aspect of his game.  South Carolina will be using him more as a linebacker this year than a safety.

DE Devin Taylor: Taylor has the size and athletic ability you want in a defensive end and with a good senior season could really move up the draft boards.  He got out shined by first round pick Melvin Ingram last season but has all the talent to be a big time defensive end in the NFL, he just need to show more consistency.

S DJ Swearinger: Swearinger is a natural safety at the next level and has the ability to be a force against the pass and the run. He did sit out the spring while rehabbing from a foot injury that caused him issues during last season.   He could be a guy that moves up the draft board quickly.

Vanderbilt:
RB Zac Stacy: A lot of people don’t like Stacy as much as I do, I know he is only 5-8 but I think he can be a productive running back in the NFL in the NFL two back system that a lot of teams run these days.  He is a strong runner who has some speed when he gets in the open field He has some ability to catch the ball out of the backfield but does need to show he can be a better receiver.  To me if you are looking for a speller senior running back in is Zac Stacy.

CB Trey Wilson: Wilson started every game last season at cornerback opposite All-SEC performer Casey Hayward and performed very well and I think he will get better as a senior. He has good coverage ability and willing to mix it up against the run. The question is going to come down to how well he can run and what is his top end speed.

OLB Archibald Barnes:  When the season kicked off last year Barnes wasn’t even a starter but because on an injury he was moved into the starting line-up and had good production with 59 total tackles, 2 sacks, 6 tackles for loss and 2 interceptions.  Barnes is a good overall athlete and has some coverage ability which will allow him to be a 3 down linebacker at the next level.  He is a guy worth keeping your eye on this season to see if he can keep his success going from last season.
