SUN BOWL - Oklahoma vs. Stanford

Here are the following players to keep your eye for the 2010 NFL Draft in the SUN BOWL.

Oklahoma:
RB Chris Brown – Brown is a stronger between the tackles type running back and as a junior last season had 1,220 yard rushing and 20 rushing touchdowns but hasn’t had a dominating senior season running the football. He has some speed and quickness, but hasn’t impressed like many people thought he would coming off a great junior season. Right now he carries a 5th round grade.

OG Brian Simmons - Simmons has good size at 6-4 318 pounds and has played both right and left guard at Oklahoma but is just a guy right and holds a free-agent grade.

OT Trent Williams – Williams is a 6-5 318 pound tackle that has played both the right and left tackle position, but I think when it is all said and done he will play right tackle in the NFL. He is a good athlete but doesn’t seem to have the feet to be a outstanding left tackle and protect the quarterback blindside. But he does has the strength and ability to be an outstanding right tackle in the NFL and right now has a 1st round grade.

CB Brian Jackson – Jackson has good size for a cornerback at 6-1 200 pounds and has good man to man coverage skills and is a willing tackler and is a solid tackler as a cornerback and could play in a Tampa-Two type defense. Right now he has a 5th round grade.

ILB Ryan Reynolds – Reynolds is a hard working linebacker but doesn’t have great size for a middle linebacker at 6-2 225 and has had injury issues in the past. In the NFL should be a great special teams player and a solid back-up and right now has a free-agent grade.

RB DeMarco Murray (JR) – Murray has had an up and down college career with injuries and performance, one week he looks like a sure fire first round pick and the next he looks like a back-up running back in the NFL. He has talk about coming out early but hopeful he returns and has a great senior season next year. If he does declare I think he would end up being a late second round pick or third round pick.

DT Gerald McCoy (JR) – McCoy has already said he will come out for the 2010 NFL Draft and could go as high as the number two overall pick. He is a dominating defensive tackle in both the run and passing game, he has good size at 6-4 300 pounds and is a good overall athlete. He has the ability to be a Pro-Bowl type player in the NFL.

CB Dominique Franks (JR) – Franks has said he will not enter 2010 NFL Draft, and return for his senior season.

OLB Travis Lewis (RSoph) – Lewis is and athletic outside linebacker with good size at 6-2 232 pounds and has talked about leaving early for the 2010 NFL Draft. He has all the ability to be an outstanding player at the next level and just needs to diagnose the plays earlier and will make even more plays. If he does declare he could end up being a late first round pick.

DE Jeremy Beal (JR) – Beal is an outstanding pure pass rusher will good size at 6-3 261 pounds but needs to develop counter pass rushing moves and not rely so much on his natural athletic ability. He has talked about coming out early for the 2010 draft but would benefit from another year of college football. If he does declare he could end up being a third round pick.

Two possible first round pick from Oklahoma that won’t be playing in this game because of injuries are TE Jermaine Gresham and QB Sam Bradford who both could have come back to Oklahoma for the 2010 season but decided to come out for the 2010 NFL Draft.

Stanford:
RB Toby Gerhart – Gerhart is a powerful downhill type running back who will punish defenders. The question mark for him is how fast is he really, and needs to get better when he gets into the second level making defender miss. He also needs to work on catching the football, and right now he has a late 2nd round grade.

TE Jim Dray – Dray is physical tight end with good size at 6-5 255 pounds and is more of a blocker then a receiving threat. He had a major knee injury in 2007 and right now has a free-agent grade.

OT Chris Marinelli – Marinelli is a perfect fit for a right tackle in the NFL, he has good size at 6-7 300 pound and is a strong player with decent feet. Right now he has a 6th round grade.

DT Ekom Udofia – Udofia is a decent overall player with good size at 6-2 315 pounds, but right now just has a free-agent grade.
