Looking at 3 senior NFL Draft prospects in the North Carolina State vs Tennessee game.

QB Mike Glennon, North Carolina State - Glennon is a big quarterback standing at 6-6 but even with that height he shows decent feet and can move in the pocket.  He has a good arm and throws a catchable ball.  He is a guy who a lot of feel with a good senior season could be a quarterback that could rise and could be a late first round pick in next fall draft.

S Earl Wolff, North Carolina State  - Wolff is a good all-around safety who can defend the run as well as the pass. He is a player that NFL teams look for, a smart, high football IQ safety to be the quarterback of the teams secondary.   

OL Dallas Thomas, Tennessee – Thomas is an athletic offensive linemen with the ability to play both guard and tackle.  He played left tackle for Tennessee all of last season but will start at left guard this season.  I think he has the ability to play tackle in the NFL and could see an NFL team drafting him high to play tackle.

Injuries start to hit NFL Draft Prospects

The College Football season hasn’t even started and some of the teams have already lost players for the season that were prospects for the 2011 NFL Draft.

DB Troy Woolfolk, Michigan - Wooolfolk dislocated his ankle and broke a bone in his leg at this past Tuesday’s practice and is most likely lost of the season, he could possible take this year as a redshirt season and come back for the 2011 season. He had a 5th to 7th round grade from the NFL going into the season and most people thought he would move to free safety at the NFL level despite playing cornerback at Michigan.

DE Ben Martin, Tennessee - Martin went down with an Achilles injury on the first day of summer practice and will miss the season. He will be taking this year as a redshirt season and plans to come back 100 percent for next year. He had a 5th to 7th round grade from the NFL going into the season and he would have been looked at as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level because of his size and athleticism.

DE Danny Richard, Grand Valley State - Richard has been lost for the season after suffering a torn ligament in his left knee, it is the same knee he hurt in last years D-II national championship game. Richard plans to pursue a medical redshirt exemption from the NCAA so that he can play next season. He has a free agent grade going into the season, but Grand Valley has shown over the years to be a powerhouse on the field and also has had players either get drafted late or sign as free-agents.

DE Christian Anthony, Grambling – Anthony suffered an apparent heart attack last week Thursday afternoon. He was released from the hospital this past Wednesday after being in stable condition while in the hospital. There has been no official word if he will play football this season or ever again. Football is secondary to Anthony having a long a healthy life, if he can get cleared to play football again that would be great. Before the season he had a 5th round grade from the NFL.

Tennessee QB Jonathan Crompton at his Pro Day ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.85 seconds, he ran the short shuttle in 4.35 seconds, and the 3-cone drill 6.94 seconds. He measured a 31-inch vertical jump, a 8-foot-10 inch broad jump.

Tennessee OL Vladimir Richard at his Pro Day measure in at 6034, and 316 pounds ran the 40-yard dash in the 5.09 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.65, and the 3-cone drill in 7.72 seconds. He measured a 31-inch vertical jump, a 8-foot-4 inch broad jump, and did 34 reps of 225 pounds.

Tennessee LB Rico McCoy at his Pro Day measure in at 6002, and 226 pounds ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.95 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.85, and the 3-cone drill in 7.45 seconds. He measured a 30.5-inch vertical jump, a 8-foot-11 inch broad jump, and did 24 reps of 225 pounds.
Tennessee OG Jacques McClendon at his Pro Day ran the 40-yard dash in 4.96 second, and did 37 reps of 225 pounds.

William & Mary Sean Lissemore at his Pro Day measure in at 6030 298 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.83 seconds. He measured a 30-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-3 inch broad jump, and did 36 reps of 225 pounds.

Illinois WR Arrelious Benn ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds, the three-cone drill in 6.78 seconds. He measured a 37.5-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-1 broad jump.

Illinois WR/TE Jeff Cumberland measured in at his Pro Day with a height of 6044, 249 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.38 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.88 seconds. He measured a 35.5-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-10 broad jump and completed 20 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.

Illinois TE Michael Hoomanawanui measured in at his Pro Day with a height of 6035, 263 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.73 seconds, and the short shuttle in 4.51 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.02 seconds. He measured a 32.5-inch vertical jump.

Texas vs. the Nation: Offensive news and notes

Overall Quarterbacks: This group of six quarterbacks is better then group at the East-West Shrine game and is close to the Senior Bowl

QB Jonathan Crompton, Tennessee: He has shown a live arm and the ability to make all the NFL throws, he has had a nice week of pratice so far, and has impressed the scouts.

QB Tim Hiller, Western Michigan: Hiller had a rough first few practices but has scouts still believing that he could be the first quarterback draft out of this group.

QB Ryan Perrilloux, Jacksonville State: Perrilloux has had excellent practices and has shown his ability to throw the football and make plays with his feet. The coaching staff has been impressed with his ability.

RB Curtis Steele, Memphis: Steele has shown speed and elusivness to make plays in the open field and has done a good job catching the football.

RB Alfonso Smith, Kentucky: Smith has shown the ability run downfield and be a physical and shown some speed and quickness.

RB Trindon Holliday, LSU: Holliday has dropped some passes he should have caught in the first few days but we he gets his hands on the ball he is an explosive.

WR Jeff Moturi, UTEP: Moturi in the first day of practice was one of the best receivers on the Texas side and then slide back to the pack. But he is someone that wasn’t expected much out of.

WR Scott Long, Louisville: Long has shown the ability to run good routes and catch the football with his hands.

WR Juamorris Stewart, Southern: Stewart showed good hands snatching the ball out of the air and having the ability to get off press coverage.

WR David Nelson, Florida: Nelson has done a nice job even with being a late add to the game. He has caught the ball well and has nice size.

TE Clay Harbor, Missouri State: Harbor has been the best tight end by far this week with good hands and being able to block, he has run the ball from the full back spot and few times and done a good job in that area.

OT Jared Veldheer, Hillsdale (MI): Even being a Division 2 player, Veldheer might be the best offensive line on either team. He is big, strong, and has good feet.

OT J’Marcus Webb, West Texas A&M: Webb is a big athletic player with long arms and good feet and could possible be a very good left tackle in the NFL.

C Eddie Adamski, Northern Illinois: Adamski has been one of the better interior linemen down in El Paso, he is strong and won’t be bull rushed and uses his hands well.
